Happy WiFi — terms between Happy WiFi and the kit owner (the person or business that buys and runs the kit).

This document explains who owns what and what each party is responsible for.

By buying, receiving, or using a Happy WiFi kit, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the kit.

1. What this is

A Happy WiFi kit lets the owner sell timed Wi‑Fi access where they operate, using their own uncapped internet. The kit runs on site (Happy WiFi Modem, Phone sales terminal, and Bluetooth thermal printer). Sales and the customer Wi‑Fi network run on the kit itself — not in a remote cloud service.

The kit owner buys the hardware and pays a monthly license to keep selling. All Wi‑Fi sales money stays with the kit owner.

How it works: Self-service — order the kit, set it up yourself using the Getting started sheet, and sell. Kits can be shipped anywhere, including online orders delivered far from Happy WiFi. On-site install or hand-holding is not included unless agreed separately in writing.

2. Ownership

Item Owner after purchase
Happy WiFi Modem Kit owner
Phone sales terminal Kit owner
Bluetooth thermal printer Kit owner
Printer paper (58 mm rolls) Kit owner — starter rolls ship with the kit; owner restocks thereafter
ISP modem, internet line, and subscription Kit owner (not part of the kit)
Cash from Wi‑Fi sales Kit owner
Customer Wi‑Fi name and retail prices Kit owner (set in Seller's Portal)
Happy WiFi software on the Phone sales terminal Licensed while the monthly license is current; not sold separately

With ownership comes care: The kit owner protects all kit equipment and pays for repair or replacement when needed (see §3).

3. Kit owner responsibilities

The kit owner agrees to:

  1. Setup — Unpack the kit and follow the Getting started sheet (connect internet, power on, enter PINs, set Wi‑Fi name and prices, run a test sale). Setup is the owner’s responsibility unless paid install was agreed in writing.
  2. Internet — Provide and pay for working uncapped internet and an ISP modem, with Ethernet to the Happy WiFi Modem as shown in Getting started.
  3. Selling — Make sure whoever sells can use the Phone sales terminal (take payment → tap product → give slip). The owner handles all customer money, change, and disputes.
  4. Power — Keep the Happy WiFi Modem plugged in. The Phone sales terminal and printer can run on battery, but batteries must stay charged so selling is not interrupted.
  5. Printer paper — Keep 58 mm rolls loaded. Starter paper ships with the kit; ongoing paper is the owner’s cost.
  6. License — Pay the monthly license fee on time and enter the monthly unlock PIN in Sell → Seller's Portal when received (see §5).
  7. Shop details — Keep Wi‑Fi display name, Seller's email, owner contact, and prices up to date in Seller's Portal.
  8. Physical care & replacement — Protect hardware from theft, damage, and tampering. Replace or repair lost or broken items at owner cost so selling can continue.
  9. Do not reset — Do not factory-reset, wipe, or “fix” the Phone sales terminal without Happy WiFi’s instruction. Unauthorized changes can stop it working for selling and may lose sales history.
  10. Legal use — Operate lawfully at the location and follow rules for offering internet to customers in your area. The owner must stay within their ISP’s terms (including whether reselling or sharing access is allowed).
  11. Reports — Provide a working Seller's email and read PIN and lock warnings in the app.

Happy WiFi is not responsible when selling stops because: no sales were made; batteries were flat; the internet line was down; or the monthly PIN was not entered after the grace period (see §5).

4. Happy WiFi responsibilities

Under the self-service model in §1, Happy WiFi agrees to:

  1. Supply — Ship the complete kit as ordered (Happy WiFi Modem, Phone sales terminal, Bluetooth thermal printer, cables, chargers, starter paper, and Getting started materials), prepared and tested before dispatch.
  2. Documentation — Provide Getting started and operator guides in the box and on happywifi.co.za.
  3. Monthly license — When the fee for a calendar month is paid, send that month’s 6-digit unlock PIN (typically via WhatsApp or SMS).
  4. Updates and service — Keep licensed kits working: software updates on the Phone sales terminal, automatic sales reports, monthly unlock PINs, and remote fixes when needed. Updates move forward only — older app versions cannot be restored.
  5. Remote support — Best-effort help by email and WhatsApp during normal business hours for kit problems (selling locked, printer issues, Phone sales terminal not connecting to the Happy WiFi Modem, app stuck updating). Support is remote only unless on-site work was agreed and paid for separately. No guaranteed response time unless a separate written agreement says so.

5. Monthly license (selling unlock)

Rule Detail
What it covers Right to create new sales for that calendar month
PIN delivery Sent after payment for that month — not before
Where to enter Sell → Seller's Portal → Monthly unlock PIN
Grace period Previous month’s PIN still works for the first 5 days of the new month
After grace New sales are blocked until the current month’s PIN is entered
Unpaid month Happy WiFi does not send a PIN and does not unlock selling
Sales revenue Happy WiFi takes no share of Wi‑Fi sales — the license is a flat monthly fee

The license lock stops new sales from the app. Customers already online may stay connected until their purchased time runs out.

Fee and payment

  • Starting rate — As on the invoice, quote, or written order at purchase.
  • Annual increases — Happy WiFi may raise the monthly fee once per calendar year, with at least 30 days’ written notice (email, WhatsApp, or invoice) before the new rate applies.
  • If you do not accept a new rate — Stop paying and stop selling; do not use the new month’s PIN. Paying the new rate or entering a PIN for that rate means you accept the increase.
  • Other changes — See §10.

6. What Happy WiFi does not provide

Not included Notes
Internet or ISP modem Owner’s line, cost, and ISP rules (including reselling/sharing)
Guaranteed sales or income No minimum revenue promise
End-customer support Wi‑Fi buyers are the owner’s customers
Refunds of Wi‑Fi sales Owner keeps the cash and sets refund policy
On-site visits by default Self-service setup; visits quoted separately
24/7 or emergency callout Unless separately quoted and paid
ISP troubleshooting Line down or slow — contact the ISP
Free replacement hardware Wear, theft, or damage — owner’s cost unless warranty or separate agreement
Ongoing printer paper Owner restocks after starter supply
Unlimited remote help Fair-use kit support only — not general IT for the premises
PIN without payment No unlock beyond the 5-day grace period in §5
Off-site backup of sales history Sales stay on the device; email reports are copies

Work outside this list (on-site visit, training, extra location, replacement unit set up, after-hours) may be quoted separately.

7. Hardware failure and replacement

  • The kit owner arranges repair or replacement at owner cost, except where a manufacturer warranty applies.
  • Happy WiFi can supply and configure replacement hardware as a paid service if agreed.
  • Selling may be unavailable until replacement hardware is set up and the license is current.

8. Email reports and data

  • The kit sends daily (yesterday’s sales) and monthly summary emails automatically.
  • Seller's email receives sales-only reports. Happy WiFi may receive fuller detail (including usage, device versions, and last-known location) to support the kit.
  • Providing Seller's email in Seller's Portal counts as consent to this reporting.

9. Acceptance

The kit is accepted when the owner finishes Getting started: kit connected and powered, test sale works, Wi‑Fi name and prices are set, and the current monthly PIN is entered. Report problems within 7 days of first setup; after that, issues are handled as remote support under §4 and §6.

10. Changes

Happy WiFi may update the app, service limits, or these terms for future license periods. Fee increases follow §5. Other material changes will be communicated before they apply. Continued use after a new license month and PIN means acceptance unless the owner stops paying and stops selling.
